Lindsay LohanArticle by Gil Kaufman

Our own Larry Carroll gave us a preview of the 2007 Golden Raspberry Award nominees a few weeks ago from his insider perspective as a Razzies voter, tipping us off to the fact that the 28th annual awards might be the only chance for Lindsay Lohan to get any hardware this year. With the official nominations now out, Lohan leads with nine, thanks to the box office mega-bomb “I Know Who Killed Me,” not to be outdone by Eddie Murphy, who was close behind with eight nods for his latest we-get-it-you’re-funny-in-a-fat-suit-and-drag snoozer, “Norbit.”

Lohan, who scored the first-ever twofer in the Worst Actress category (one for each twin she played in the movie), will face off against Murphy for Worst Screen Couple (each playing opposite themselves), and her flick also notched nods for Worst Excuse for a Horror Movie, Worst Screenplay, Worst Director and Worst Remake or Rip-off.

Adam Sandler’s dud gay-marriage comedy “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry” also grabbed eight nominations, including Worst Supporting Actor for Kevin James, who will join castmate Rob Schneider in that ignoble category, along with veteran character actor Jon “Angelina’s Daddy” Voight, who was singled out for his horrid work in four movies (“Bratz,” “National Treasure 2,” “September Dawn” and “Transformers”) while a number of former Oscar nominees are in the running for Worst Actor, including Cuba Gooding Jr. for his role in “Daddy Day Camp.”

Worst Supporting Actress is likely the closest Carmen Electra (“Epic Movie”) will ever get to an acting trophy, but at least she’s up against some slightly more credible actresses in the form of Julia Ormond (“I Know Who Killed Me”) and the slumming Nicolette Sheridan (“Code Name: The Cleaner”).

Jessica Alba was slammed into the Worst Actress category for her work in “Awake,” “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” and “Good Luck Chuck,” while Jessica Biel got the nod for Worst Supporting Actress for her work in “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry” and “Next.” Alba will be joined in the Worst Screen Couple race by Any Combination of Totally Air-Headed Characters from “Bratz,” Lohan, Murphy and either Sandler or James with Biel in “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry.”

The other Worst Picture nominees include “Bratz” and “Daddy Day Camp.” The Worst Prequel or Sequel category looks to be a tight one between “Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem,” “Daddy Day Camp,” “Evan Almighty,” “Hannibal Rising” and “Hostel: Part II.” Former kid star Fred Savage got — you guessed it — savaged in the Worst Director category, where he’s up against the geniuses behind “Chuck and Larry,” “Captivity,” “Norbit” and “I Know Who Killed Me.”

The Razzies will be handed out the day before the Oscars, on February 23.
